A little further, 45 minutes by car, this waterpark has a fantastic inside area for little ones and plenty to do outside if the weather permits. Reservation recommended. Under 1s are free.

Het Wed
With a restaurant and a playarea for the bigger kids at the enterance, this is a family favourite. Its just a short walk to the beach. In the summer this is a hotspot so get there early!

Oosterplas
A little more remote than Het Wed but still a beautiful lake. *There are no facilities nearby other than picnic benches*
Veerplas
This lake isnt quite as clear as the others however it is significantly easier to get to as well as having plenty of grass surrounding it for picnics and naps under the sun!

This is a great place to swim with parks, restaurants, a small beach and plenty of grassy areas around the lake.

de Houtvaart
An outdoor swimming pool that has been open in Haarlem for many many years. This is a family favourite as there are 2 pools as well as a splash pad for the littlest ones.

Boerhaavebad
Though not outdoors, this is a great place to swim with a slide for older children as well as a splash area for little ones.

Haarlemmermeerse Bos
My personal favourite! Just a 30-minute cycle from Haarlem centrum, or hop on the 300 bus and you’ll be there in no time. Haarlemmermeerse Bos offers everything you could want for a family day out: a large swimming lake, sandy beach areas, playgrounds, cafés, scenic walking and cycling routes, and plenty of space for children to run, explore, and play.

Right on the beach is this cute cafe and playground. With trampolines and other equipement it is great for many different ages.
